Bali ... Vacay Planning Mode!

Welcome to Hangover Resort, this time its "Bali" on my mind ... and this blog post is in my Vacay Planning Mode! So, as per my research and feedback from the travelers, I have made this tentative itinerary that may be used as a base to cut short or expand it as per our individual choice of vacation.

Bali is a popular tourist destination definitely present on the bucket list of visiting Indonesia. From the beaches and blue waters to the jungles and waterfalls, Bali has so much diversity to offer to its visitors. Spending about a week in Bali would be a reasonable time to get a feel of the island. But you may customize it depending on your individual tour duration & travel preferences.

Bali - Detailed Day Wise Itinerary   - (Most suitable for 1st time Bali Visitor)

Day 1 - Welcome to Wonderful Bali

Arrive at Denpasar Airport and head to the hotel / resort for check-in. It is better to keep the first day at leisure, so as to relax and enjoy the place of stay OR just look around the local area, if you like to, at your own pace.

Day 2 - The centre of Bali - Ubud Tour

Take a visit to the town of Ubud, in the uplands of Bali in Indonesia. Explore Ubud District rainforest, terraced rice paddies, ancient holy sites including

(i) The Tirta Empul temple -  A very active temple built around a bubbling spring. It is an interesting place to observe Hindu devotees purifying themselves by ritual bathing. Locals recommend to visit on a full moon day for religious significance.

(ii) Goa Gajah -  It is locally known as the Elephant Cave because of its close proximity to the Elephant River. It is a worship place dating back to 11th century and has significance attached to early Buddhists visiting Indonesia in the past.

(iii) Gunung Kawi - It is one of Bali's most extraordinary archeological destinations, and a place of worship build in 11th century.

(iv) Pura Taman Saraswati Temple - Built in the 19th century, it is one of the oldest temples that were built in the era of Prince of Ubu.

(v) Ubud Monkey Forest - The forest and 3 temple complex have been home to monkeys for hundreds of years, and the area is considered a holy place on the island. Considered one of the top tourist attractions in Bali, the forest would be worth a visit.

Day 3 - Tanjung Benoa Beach in Nusa Dua

It is a Large, sandy beach offering swimming, sunbathing & boating, plus nearby restaurants. It earlier used to be a fishing village and an old dock, and one can also enjoy a glimpse of the remaining mangrove marsh. Tourists may opt for various water sport options available here.

Day 4 - Bali Safari & Marine Park or Taman Safari

It is an amusement park offering a Balinese cultural entertainment and wildlife encounter, located in Gianyar in Bali. Must visit if traveling with kids.

Day 5 - Day with Pirates

Enjoy a memorable dinner cruise with pirates in Bali at Sea Safari Cruises. Relish your dinner and admire the beautiful sunset view on the sea. Indulge in various games with the crew of pirates. Spend your night on the sea wearing pirate's costumes. Get entertained by live music and exotic dancers.

Day 6 - One full day of Leisure

Do some shopping and chill out. Treat yourselves with the world famous Thai massages to choose from... foot massage to full body massage or head massage etc. OR if you wish, you may go for a trek or day out to a specific location of your choice.

Day 7 - Adios to Bali

Travel back to the airport with lot of pleasant memories of the holiday.

Disclaimer: There still might be many more places of tourist interest, but I have tried to take in the most popular choices with good reviews and recommendation for an all-inclusive kind of trip to Bali.
